	Step 1– We prepare the repair site by laying plywood and tarps in the work area. Our repair team will carefully remove your plants in preparation for replacement once the foundation is repaired. This is done before beginning foundation crack repair, which is sometimes called home leveling.
	Step 2— To lift and support your foundation, foundation piers are installed by placing hydraulically driven concrete columns (called pilings) beneath the foundation. These foundation piers serve as a platform upon which we set jacks to raise the settled portions of the foundation. These concrete columns transfer the weight of the building from the unstable, moisture sensitive surface soils to deeper layers of soils less affected by seasonal moisture changes. The pilings are driven into the ground to the point of refusal.
	Step 3— As part of our foundation crack repair service, we raise the lowest point of your foundation to as near the original position as possible in the areas where the pilings and foundation piers are installed. Jacks are placed on top of the foundation piers. Our foreman and crew chief monitor how the structure reacts in preparation for lifting. When the lifting is complete, steel spacers called shims are inserted under concrete blocks.
	Step 4— Each hole is refilled and compacted with soil in order to fill the void created when lifting your foundation. Concrete areas that were saw-cut are patched. Plants are replanted, and your yard, walkways and driveway are thoroughly cleaned, raked and washed. As we often tell our customers “When we leave, you won’t be able to tell that we were ever even there.”
